Led by founder and Licensed General Contractor, Michael Adley, Fernstone Construction combines years of hands-on experience with a commitment to craftsmanship, efficiency, and client satisfaction. While the company was established in 2019, Michael’s career in construction began in 2015, giving him a deep foundation of knowledge and practical expertise.

MEET THE TEAM
Michael Adley
Owner & General Contractor
Michael Adley is a licensed general contractor in the state of Georgia specializing in residential construction. Michael is the son of a seasoned general contractor, he spent his formative years on construction sites, absorbing invaluable lessons by his father’s side. With over 25 years of experience, his father not only taught him the ins and outs of running a successful business but also instilled a strong sense of integrity in the construction industry.
Michael’s prior experience has been centered around construction, real estate and even serving as a project manager. Michael's past experience includes collaborating with investors, home builders and large real estate management firms, which further deepened his understanding of the home building processes. After many years in the industry, this fueled his ambition to become a licensed general contractor. Driven by a commitment to quality and craftsmanship, Michael is passionate about his work.
Originally born and raised in Georgia, Michael grew up in the suburbs outside of Atlanta. He graduated with an undergraduate degree in Business from The University of Alabama. Although his roots are in Georgia, Michael is also a Licensed Home Builder in the state of Alabama. He enjoys furthering his skills in the industry, strengthening his knowledge and expanding his capabilities.
When he’s not on a construction site or meeting with clients, Michael spends his free time with his wife Melanie, who also works along side with him.

Melanie Adley
Lead Designer - Client Relations
Melanie Adley’s journey into construction and design began in 2015 with a personal project: renovating a family property that needed to be listed for sale. Tasked with managing the remodel and making key design decisions, Melanie quickly realized her natural ability to balance function, style, and efficiency. The home sold quickly, and although the project was complete, it sparked something much bigger.
While working in corporate marketing, Melanie continued to take on design and renovation projects for friends, family, and colleagues—each time sharpening her skills and deepening her passion for transforming spaces. In 2017, alongside her husband Michael, a licensed General Contractor in Georgia, the two purchased their first flip as a team. The success of that home and the buyers’ praise for Melanie’s eye for finishes, and overall design marked a turning point: it was time to pursue design full time.
Since then, Melanie and Michael have renovated over 1,000 homes together. As Lead Designer at Fernstone Construction Group, Melanie leads all design efforts and often steps in as Project Manager on complex renovations, ensuring seamless communication between vision and execution. Her deep knowledge of construction allows her to design with both creativity and feasibility in mind, a rare combination that makes her invaluable on large-scale remodels.
Melanie has effortlessly designed kitchens, bathrooms, full floor plans, and entire homes, down to the smallest details, including paint colors, tile layouts, roofing materials, and window selections. Whether a project leans traditional, modern, luxury, historic, or something in between, she brings a thoughtful, hands-on approach that blends beauty with function - every time.
In addition to all that she does for Fernstone, Melanie is also a licensed Real Estate Agent in the state of Georgia and helps clients buy and sell their homes.
